Worth a visit
jju60
Canterbury, United Kingdom | Nov 1, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThere seem to be two hotels in these photos! The Jianguo Garden Hotel is a little worse for wear and used to be one of the top hotels. However the downstairs rooms with gardens and pools are wonderful. They have a pool and beautiful live music in the entrance with wonderful cakes and drinks. It's a wonderful experience and staff were so helpful. The age didn't worry me but I know it might some

Australians love this hotel

Sep 19, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThere are a few hotels with similar names this Jianguo Garden Hotel is at No.17 Jianguomennei Street, Dongcheng District Beijing, China, 100005. Brilliant location about 35 mins walk to Tianamin Square. Excellent Breakfast & Dinners. Restaurant is five star serving western & eastern foods. All Buffet - so you can select what you want. (or they will cook it as you like it). There is usually one one staff member each day that has a little English - so you ask them to ask the chef for "Eggs sunny side up" or "Steak medium rare". They are a jolly lot, smiling very appreciative & attentive (without the English language). Help yourself to wines & soft drinks & juice. Help yourself to Breads, rolls etc. Dinner was exceptional. It did not feel like a buffet - with so much variety. Rooms were five star, even a set of weights in the marble bathroom. Great block out curtains & blinds. Well maintained carpets, linens, towels etc. I like the nice writing desk & writing lamp. Comfy sofa & huge TV. Basically I could not fault this place for food, information & Accommodation. We seemed to get the best rooms. Again with Reception staff - usually only one person had English at a time, so we were very happy to wait for them. All staff were friendly & smiling. I would definitely come again to Jianguo Garden - for location, ambiance, restaurant quality & variety, and excellent rooms.

Beautiful, clean, quiet

Dunedin, New Zealand | Jul 12, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe non-smoking rooms on the 11th floor were maybe a little smaller for the price than I was expecting, but hey, it's Beijing and floor space is expensive. The room's were still certainly big enough when you're spending all your time exploring, and they were quiet and cool for sleeping after a long day.
Breakfast was delicious and varied. Be sure to try some of the Chinese breakfast foods, such as fried dough sticks and congee. -
Okay hotel but definitely not 5 star
John_Ying
Melbourne, Australia | Jun 30, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyIt is misleading to claim this is a five star hotel, the rooms are outdated and an annoying practice of some Chinese hotels is turning off the air conditioning frequently so only the fan operates. Luckily we could open the window on the 8th floor and it was only high 20s in early-mid June. This should not happen for a so called 5 star hotel. The staff are very helpful and most on the front desk, concierge and bell desk speak English. Would not stay here again and will pay more to stay at a western band hotel where they are not so stingy with the air conditioning.

Good Breakfast & Location
Dolphin712
Bangkok, Thailand | May 18, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe hotel is 4 stops (1 change) on the subway from the last stop on the airport rail link and 2 stops from Tiananmen Square. It is just next to Dongsi subway station (exit B north east, if I recall), but best to take a photo of the hotel and its name in Chinese to assist in asking for directions. We were allowed a very early check-in after a long flight - for which we were very grateful. The buffet breakfast is excellent and the hotel is one block away from a shopping mall with a good food court.
The room was clean and large (most rooms are a little smaller) and the bathroom adequate, with good shower pressure, although showing its age. Safe deposit box and Wi-Fi included - Google and gmail are blocked in China.
I would stay here again.
