Good Location to Visit Beijing
UliK834
Dunedin, New Zealand | Nov 11, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe luxury foyer is certainly doesn't reflect the quality of the hotel. Our room was more on the poor rating than on average, the carpets been full of marks from preoccupations, so the beds, the bathroom had a bad odor but was clean. Beds been very hard and not really comfortable.
Breakfast in the upper restaurant was good including the service. A plus is certainly the central location, close to the underground, shopping mall and restaurants. -
4* and kinda cheap

Trieste, Italy | Oct 23, 2025 | Trip type: Familylocated about 300m from the underground station, it's very easy to reach. staff is very kind and they speak english.
family suite was huge with very low traffic noise coming from outside.
the room was clean, with all the bath supplies which are needed to integrate what you cannot bring in such a long (for us) journey.
in the hotel restaurant there were italian&chinese flags together, but we've not eaten anytime, preferring to try small restaurants in the city core -
Not so bad and centrally located place in Beijing

Moscow | May 18, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesMyself and my wife stayed at Guangzhou Hotel for 3 nights in May 2013. As everywhere in Asia you must understand that this is not a 4 star hotel, 2,5 - 3 stars, no more. Our non-smoking room had a strong smell of tobaco, this is wide-spread in China.
Pros:
- Location is perfect, 500 meters from Xidan metro station, Lines 1 and 4, only 4 metro stops from South Railway Station, Line 4 (speed train to Shanghai) and 1 stop to Tian'anmen West station, Line 1 (the famous Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City- or 20 min walk).
- The hotel can arrange tours to the Great Chinese Wall and more.
- The room was big, facing to the city center.
- Free wi-fi in the lobby, sometimes in the room.
- Good view to the city center.
- Good price - about 57 USD for both/night.
- There are many stores and places to eat in the closest proximity.
Cons:
No English in the hotel. You have to spend too much time in order to explain what you want at the reception. Numerous misunderstandings.
- They block 500 yuans as a deposit on your card and if you want to extend your stay, they try to do it every time.
- You can't extend the hotel at the reception, you need to do so through booking.com or agoda.com. Everytime they don't receive fax comfirmations from booking systems and require you to call them (madness). If you show them your confirmation on your iPhone, they don't accept it ((
- It's a Soviet style hotel, rather old inside.
- Sometimes it's noisy in the hotel due to the local Chinese people - they can cry everywhere and everytime - in the rooms or corridor even at night. -
Great Location

Melbourne, Australia | Dec 20, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe hotel is Quite adequate .It is centrally located being near Tienamen SQ and The forbidden City and also The Financial District. Many local markets shops and eating places close by. The rooms are clean and the staff most helpful. It is very easy to travel around Beijing on the Metro and on Buses its very easy as the signage is in English and Chinese. The Taxis are not that reliable.

Getting worse

Shanghai, China | May 29, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessThe only reason I chose this hotel is its location. In westen part of Beijing, especially close to the financial street, it is very difficult to find a good hotel under 200 USD/night. This hotel is 3 minutes walk to the malls and supermarkets around, 7-10 minutes to the financial street by a cab if you can find one (it is extremely difficult to find a cab in Beijing during rush hour). The decoration of the room is getting worn, even the executive room I stayed is no exception. The TV set is TCL using a fancy remote controller like i-tume. There is no paper or placstic bag provided in room, if you need one it costs 10 yuan, which is quite usually for a four star hotel. The service is poor since the doorman will not help to hire the cab, when you ask, the answer is " this is not job."
