• A pleasant surprise in the middle of Beijing.

  Location of Hotel.
  This hotel is in an excellent location on the main shopping street and a few blocks from Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. It’s a bit of a walk from the train stations so I would take a taxi if you do not have transport arranged.
  Checking Inn.
  It was efficient and friendly, completed in a few minutes. Could not ask for better.
  The Room.
  The room was a good size. The room was overlooking the front of the hotel and sadly was noisy at night as they were fixing the roads outside. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows excellent. The room was very clean, there were sufficient towels and the walk-in shower was good, there was also a large bath. Toiletries were excellent. Small bar fridge that was adequate for me and there was complimentary tea/coffee. Internet in the room was very good. The room also had a safe and an iron and ironing board. There was plenty of storage space and room to move. TV has sufficient channels and news and business channels to keep abreast of world events. I had the breakfast which was good. The central is nice to relax in during the evening if you don’t feel like going out.
  Dining.
  I had the breakfast which was good. Yes I have had better but this was sufficient for my needs, the chef makes a fine omelet, one of the best I have had.
  Smoking.
  People still smoke in Beijing, and they smoke a lot. Make sure you are for a non-smoking room, in fact demand it!
  Gym
  The hotel has an excellent gym and swimming pool, more than sufficient for even the fitter guests.
  Bottom Line
  Would I stay here again, yes. A pleasant surprise in the middle of Beijing.

• Classy, accommodating, and beautiful hotel

  We stayed in the Executive room which was very nice and gave us access to the executive lounge for breakfast and happy hour. The food was amazing and they had a "help yourself" bar. Housekeeping took their job very seriously and cleaned our room every day regardless of the "do not disturb" sign. It is centrally located to Wangfujing shopping district, and close to Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the National Art Museum. I would definitely recommend this place and stay here again. The reason I did not give it five stars is because: it was difficult communicating with the concierge staff due a language barrier, our room was a smoking room (however we did not request a room change), the room appeared larger in the photos on the internet, and we discovered egg shells mixed with our scrambled eggs one morning at breakfast.

• Good hotel in a Great Location

  Having never been to China before we spent a longer time researching hotel and finally decided on the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel - and we were definitely not disappointed.
  The location of the hotel is absolutely perft - close to the Wangfujing shopping street area and the mall. Close to lots of restaurants and cafes - so it was perfect for us.
  The staff were very friendly but we did struggle to communicate very well as we do not speak Chinese and most of the staff do not speak English. This did not cause us a lot of problems but I would suggest making sure you plan where you need to go, how to get there if you do not speak to Chinese as the staff on Concierge could not assist.
  The rooms were clean and comfortable - with plenty of space.
  The only negative aspect of our stay was that we booked a transfer with the hotel to get from the airport to hotel when we arrived. However, we were told at the airport that the transfer was not going to turn up and so we had to get a taxi - the manager did not apologised and said there had been a mix-up. Not a huge problem but just a word of warning to our travellers thinking of booking a transfer through the hotel - as you may end up getting a taxi.
  Overall a good hotel in the best location - would recommend.

  The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly. We're three persons in a double room, and with an extra bed it's quite stuffed. But for two persons it would be perfect. I would highly recommend this hotel, both because of the standard of the rooms and the location. We didn't try any of the food in the restaurants, so I don't know how that is.
