Triple the happiness
Kelly D
Hilliard, Ohio | Aug 23, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyOur family of 3 stayed here for 2 nights and we absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing and friendly and the hotel itself was beautiful. Such fantastic atmosphere. We were here in fall so it was to cold to enjoy the courtyard but it was still beautiful. The breakfast buffet was like nothing I had ever seen and the food coming out of the restaurant was so good we ate there twice.

Definately in China! Quirky and beautiful

London | Aug 23, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesBeautiful hotel with friendly welcoming staff that want to ensure you have the best stay. Down a side street where you see all of life as you head up to the main road. Substantial breakfast. Hotel used by foreigners and Chinese alike. Photos say it all.
One night we were so shattered after our day we ate in the restuarant. Watched a movie on the big screen and had an enjoyable meal. They just need to get dark rum behind the bar please! -
At least double happiness

Aug 22, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThe Double Happiness Courtyard Hotel is located in the Hutongs, which are really narrow streets with traditional houses. The Hutongs allow not much traffic, which makes this hotel too a place of peace and calmness in the middle of noisy and hectic Beijing. Forbidden City is not to far away, you even can walk there in 30 to 40 minutes. A Subway station is not far either. The hotel itself is cosy in a traditional Chinese style. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is always friendly and all of them speak fluent English.

Fantastic

Leeds, United Kingdom | Aug 19, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesMy wife and I loved this hotel (room 138). Initially we were slightly worried whilst walking down the narrow alleyway (400m) at night, that leads to the hotel, however we recognised the red lanterns hanging above the doorway and were welcomed by the amazing staff. What makes this hotel so special is the staff - all of them - from the front of house to the cleaners - we couldn’t have asked more. They were polite, helpful and genuinely appeared to enjoy working there. Our room was perfect - great air conditioning, powerful shower, comfortable bed and quiet. The laundry service was exceptional and value for money, the food (breakfast and dinner ) was tasty and plentiful.
Situated a ten minute walk from the nearest metro, the hotel sits in one of the more interesting parts of Beijing, in an area where people live in single rooms and use communal toilets situated on the alleyway. We both felt safe during the day and at night and enjoyed meeting some of the local people (loved the guy in the little antique shop).
Would definitely recommend if you like quirky and want to get away from the standard soulless hotel normally available in big cities. -
A quiet inner city courtyard hotel where you can feel at home

Oxford, United Kingdom | Aug 7, 2025 | Trip type: BusinessIt is a quirky place with very friendly helpful staff, some of whom speak very good English. I had a small double room with an en-suite. The room was cleaned daily and I was able to use it as a base for work and sight-seeing.
Ask Indi on reception to show you her post-cards. She is an artist and has created some great images.
