Good Relaxed Hotel

On a short visit to Beijing with my family, I booked well in advance and was able to get two adjoining rooms with interconnecting door, which was perfect for us. The price was in local currency which was very reasonable for two rooms for 4 nights. The hotel situated off Wangfujing Street, the main shopping street and right next door to the Sunworld Dynasty Hotel which was very convenient as the airport shuttle bus dropped us off there and we literally had to walk 100 metres to Sunworld Hotel.

The breakfast was excellent with a combination of Western and Chinese buffet so you can try both, complete with a chef to cook your eggs to your satisfaction, and very reasonably priced. This hotel is not a modern glass skyscraper block but we had a rooftop view of the Forbidden City from our rooms and the setting sun. The hotel has the atmosphere of a Chinese hotel, not a westernized Chinese hotel, which is what we wanted i.e. not to stay in a western bubble in China. The hotel met all the standards required for a hotel of their rating. It was clean and comfortable and there are no complaints at all. The staff were very friendly and were very helpful and spoke good English.

The location is also excellent if you want to explore Beijing by subway which was a short walk away and there are many good restaurants nearby. Across the road is a 7/11 convenience store and a Shanxi noodle restaurant serving very tasty noodles. Nearly all the banks change foreign currency and they are located on the same street, but the front desk will change foreign currency as well.

I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Beijing for a few days stopover.

Well located small and old hotel. Rooms desperately need renovation. Average breakfast. The tour and Travel center is too expensive in the Hotel.... you will get atleast 50% cheaper rates just outside the Hotel.

I highly recommend this hotel. It’s in a great location, and the prices are very reasonable. The rooms are fairly standard, nothing fancy, but clean, and very functional. I loved the fact that it had a nice local feel, when you walked around. Very friendly staff who spoke good English. Would definitely stay again!

Awesome location. Walking distance to the subway (Dengshikou -Line 5) and to Wangfujing shopping area which included the Night market and snack street shops. Forbidden city and Tienamen square are within walking distance but still a little far.

Clean rooms but a little small and outdated. Nice amenities and water provided daily for free. The carpet could definitely be replaced. When you leave the room and take the key out of the slot, everything turns off which means the mini fridge never really gets cold. We didn’t eat at the hotel. The breakfast was quite pricey and there were just a lot of options right outside the hotel in walking distance.

We were pleasantly surprised and thankful to the staff at this hotel. They exchanged our Dollars for Yuan at a better rate than the bank. They did a Laundry service because in China there is no public laundry, We need because my son made a mess! Staff Breakfast was Western and Asian which was the perfect combination and everything was fresh. We appreciated this especially with the tours we took. Hotel was clean, close to everything Wangfujing Snack Street! Walking distance and the great street mall nearby was fantastic.
