Enjoyable Stay
Susan H
Ossett, United Kingdom | Oct 15, 2025 | Trip type: FamilyStayed here in a superior twin room for 4 nights and loved it. Yes it is a bit old fashioned and the carpets as previously mentioned are a bit worn but the rooms are a good size with a huge bathroom with bath and separate shower. Single beds in twin room were far wider than a normal single and very comfy. Trips organised by hotel were good value and well run. We were too tired to go out of an evening so ate in hotel every night - they do a buffet with traditional food, fresh meat and fish cooked to order, sushi and unlimited wine, beer and soft drinks for 220 CNY which we thought was really good value.

Well Located Hotel but Needing a bit of an update
Kaiser A
Auckland Central, New Zealand | Sep 17, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawayLocation: Situated close to the main Wangfujing Shopping District. Within the distance of Forbidden City. Metro is a few hundred metres walk (Dongshi Station). There is a Family Mart in close proximity.
Room: We have been given 9th Floor room. The room was really huge. It gives you an Oriental feel with its old style and Chinese design. We quite like the ambience but it is a bit dimmed and dark for us. The good thing is that natural light from the window helps in the morning. Bed is clean and linens are fresh. Housekeeping is good. They make up our room everyday. Smells clean and fresh. Toilet is huge with Bath and Shower in it too.
Amenities: WiFi is slow but functional. We didn't use a lot of amenities as we're always out to sightsee and shop but I walked passed Swimming pool and Gym and it looks clear and functional.
Staff/Service: I am aware of communication problems due to different languages so I am fine with it. Sometimes, it can be a challenge but just be patient and hope that they will be patient too. The deposit took a bit of time to be refunded but it did eventually. They are quite nice and helpful.
Overall, it was a nice and pleasant stay. They need a bit of improvement and update on their rooms as it was a bit outdated. -
Their internet sucks.

Ottawa, Illinois | Sep 9, 2025 | Trip type: CouplesThis is a moderately priced hotel, on what seems to be hotel row, in downtown Beijing China. Because of its location, it’s obviously not a new hotel but it has been well maintained and physically very attractive. It has a typical Beijing hotel lobby which show cases lots of marble, glass, space and cleanliness. The reception staff, even though they spoke broken English, were very understandable and hospitable. It went seamlessly from our limo driver dropping us off at the front entrance to their bell hop delivering our luggage to our room. The room is spacious, well appointed in a traditional Chinese motif and the air conditioning is stellar. There is no hint of previous smoking residents and that has been a complaint that I have read about. The maid service is prompt and they do an unbelievable job of restoring our shambled room to its original glory. If there is a down side, it’s their wi-fi. Their wi-if sucks!!

Adelaide, Australia | Sep 7, 2025 | Trip type: Friends getawaystayed 9 nights here. room was good. showing its age. room had a nice view, convenient to locals attractions, and found plenty of nice places to eat, did not have breakfast here ate out eat morning. all staff friendly. mtr stations close by. the gym was very good . never busy. only issue is adults took there children in to play with the machines. I think the staff/hotel should not allow young children in there slamming and playing on the machines.
